Promise: After reading this Guide your understanding of fantasy hockey will dramatically improve – more than with any other resource. From managing expectations, when to act, what kind of timeline are the players on, what has been holding them back or driving them forward (and can it happen again?) – Dobber’s got you covered.

This is the only online fantasy service with 19 years of acclaimed Fantasy Hockey Guides. Dobber has contributed to dozens of magazines you’ve been reading from the newsstand over the past 25 years, including The Hockey News and the Hockey Forecaster. He was the fantasy hockey writer for The Hockey News for 12 years with over 900 articles and he’s been doing player projections for over 30 years – it all started as a project in one of his his fourth year Statistics Degree courses.

Tired of preseason mags that cut off after their Top 500 player predictions? Dobber always gives you at least 900!

In the 2020-21 Fantasy Guide, 315 player projections were accurate within five points. ELEVEN consecutive seasons of getting more than 250 player points projections accurate within five points.

Each year the Guide and Draft List (included) is updated more than 70 times combined between the date of release and the second day of the regular season. Sometimes two or three times in a single day! Updates are free – simply re-download the PDF or Spreadsheet and you’ll have the latest one. A list of updates are conveniently noted in the ‘updates’ section of the Guide. This is the only Fantasy Guide that has updated line combinations, projections, injuries and training camp cuts – sometimes 10 minutes after they’re announced! Don’t go into your draft with a Guide that has news and projections from months ago. Dobber’s Guide will have you set based on up-to-the-hour news!

For 14 years, Dobber has added a section for each team breaking down what the latest in advanced statistics tells you about how the coach is using/deploying his players and what it means to a player’s fantasy outlook (and to your fantasy squad). Includes 5on5 S%, zone deployment, coaching tendencies and CorsiRel analysis. But the Guide isn’t bogged down with complicated numbers – just the straight projections, with this advanced stats analysis in its own section presented clearly for the layman.

Where is the rest of the fantasy hockey industry? While other sites shut down their content every summer – and during the pandemic – DobberHockey is still there for you with rankings, analysis and breakdowns of the latest off-ice and off-season news. A fresh daily Ramblings has been posted every day for 19 years – not even missing Christmas! Other sites only wish they had this kind of dedication.

Do you want to put your fate in the hands of people who took the quarantine months off, take summers off… and then suddenly reappear in the fall just in time to take your money?

YOUR SECRET WEAPON. DobberHockey is dedicated 100% to fantasy hockey. All of our sister sites: DobberHockey, DobberProspects, Dobbernomics, the Hockey Forum, Goalie Post and Fantasy Hockey Geek are dedicated exclusively to hockey. For other roto-companies, hockey is an afterthought: “Football Football Football Football…and uh… Hockey. But …FOOTBALL!”  Are those football guys the people you want to rely on for hockey tips and updates? And what about the big media companies? Go ahead and leaf through a fantasy hockey magazine at the newsstand. Notice who writes the columns? Reporters that you see writing all year round. Do you think they’re in any fantasy leagues? Hell no. They’re hockey people, not fantasy hockey people! How can they possibly know what we want? DobberHockey is 100% fantasy hockey brought to you by proven and dedicated fantasy hockey experts.

Alsoa full rookie report, including odds that each will make the team (and yes, the odds get adjusted and updated too), a sleeper chart with odds of the player reaching his sleeper number, a team-by-team analysis of the NHL schedule and how best to use the schedule to your advantage…and of course projections for over 800 players (including Hits and Blocked Shots). The Guide is an Adobe document and the accompanying Draft List is of course a multi-page spreadsheet (use the ones that work best for your league!). DobberHockey has been exclusive to fantasy hockey for 19 years. You don’t want to pick up something from a website that closes shop for the summer and provides zero analysis and rankings between May and August, do you? Hell no. You want product from a group of fantasy diehards who never stop analyzing and breaking down the news – even if it’s a minor signing!

Remember – a good Guide is more than just projections. You also want to make sure you get all the players too! In 2010 only ONE Guide had Jeff Skinner making Carolina’s roster and only ONE Guide had a projection for him: Dobber’s. In 2014 only ONE Guide had John Klingberg seeing some games with Dallas and only ONE Guide had a projection for him: Dobber’s. In 2016, only ONE Guide had a projection for Jake Guentzel and highlighted him as a sleeper for 45 points: Dobber’s. In 2017, did your other Guide have Evgenii Dadonov in there? Dobber’s did – and had him for 45 points. In 2018-19, most Guides didn’t have Erik Gustafsson at all! DobberHockey’s Guide had him projected for 31 points in 67 games. Jason Robertson, Pius Suter, Carter Verhaeghe each had full-season projections in 2020-21, when many other guides either missed them or only gave partial-season projections. In 2021-22 it was Seth Jarvis and Karel Vejmelka that many other mags missed. In 2022, a lot of outlets missed Mattias Maccelli altogether. Not Dobber! Sure would have been nice to get those guys, huh?
